SOME THOUGHTS ON SUCCESSFUL STUDY

Everyday, I study for about 2 to 2 ½  hours…some days even three…There are some days when I do not study at all…like when I have to go somewhere or there is some function at home…but then, the next day, I study a little extra.

The desire to study comes on its own. Though I study, there are days when I do not feel like studying. Then I sit down when Daddy-Mummy scold me…and after a while, I am happy to study.

Whenever Daddy-Mummy scold me, I pick up Maths or Chemistry and start solving problems. By doing that I get engrossed.

Earlier, I was fond of Maths but now I do not find it interesting. Earlier I used to enjoy it and would not know where the time has passed while I solved problems.

Whenever I feel a bored, I leave my studies and fool around with my brother or sister or trouble them. Then tiredness, boredom all disappears and I get back to study.

I find History very boring and I dislike the subject. But a few days before the exams, I read the chapters and then write it in my own words during the exam.

The days on which I am tired, I play with my brother for a while and my tiredness goes away.

It is very important to study. We can become successful only by studying well. It is only by studying that we can get a good and respectful job. We have absolutely no idea how happy our parents are if we become successful.

I don’t say we should study the whole day but we must spend about three hours on study everyday. Play is also important..and while studying, we can take short breaks of fifteen minutes and fool around a bit or have fun with one’s brother / sister...that is enough to get refreshed and put our mind back into study.

When we get good marks, our parents are so proud and that itself makes us so happy. If our neighbours praise us, it makes us feel so good. If those around us taunt us because of poor marks, then we think, oh it would have been good to have concentrated on my studies through the year. Right through the year, we do not study and then in the end, regret it.

For the exams, I did not take any specific steps. I just revised what I had studied through the year. If we study through the year, then while revising, everything comes back to us quickly.

To study and to be able to remember and recall, we need self-confidence. It is said that self-confidence is the secret of success. Every day, after returning home, we must revise the day’s study through self-study. Before sleeping, we must recall all the topics that were taught in school and that we revised at home.
