Formedia is an India-based not-for-profit registered in 2000. It was set up in public interest, towards the cause of high-quality creative content in the media and NGO sector. The emphasis has been on the critical genre of documentary.

The media-related activities include training workshops & intensive training programmes, seminars, policy intervention initiatives and a festival of international documentaries.

The community engagement includes grassroots initiatives for empowerment, environment and rural education.

The collaborations and associations include a vast network of organisations / institutions in India and abroad.

Individuals contribute financially, in-kind or with pro bono services in their personal capacities.
